Chris Malette

Chris Malette is a well-known former newspaper journalist – serving the Quinte region as a print reporter, photographer and city editor with the region’s daily newspaper of record, The Intelligencer.

For the past six years, Chris has been a member of Belleville City Council, serving as chair of several committees including Belleville Council’s Green Task Force, Hastings County’s joint services committee for Community and Human Services and Quinte Conservation Authority board of directors as past chair and current vice chair.

Chris has a long history of community volunteerism, including a past role as secretary of the board of the then Belleville Family YMCA and has, for the past decade, been a board member of the Enrichment Centre for Mental Health – formerly the Canadian Mental Health Association Prince Edward-Hastings branch.

Chris is the proud father of two daughters and is a Life Member of the Belleville Bulldogs Rugby Club, assisting over the years to grow the club into what has been recognized as one of the most dynamic and successful clubs promoting youth rugby in Ontario.
