Local Liberals await decision on Bay of Quinte candidate

BAY OF QUINTE, ON – Local members of the Bay of Quinte riding association say they expect to announce their candidate for the federal election in the next 24-48 hours.

“We’ve had a lot of interest from people wanting to represent us in this election,” said Ken Manderville, chair of the Bay of Quinte Federal Liberal riding association.

Manderville confirmed that four applications have been submitted to the Liberal Party of Canada from Bay of Quinte residents in the last several weeks.

Those nominees are currently being vetted by party officials.

“The team is ready to go and we can’t wait to get this campaign started,” Manderville commented. He reports that the campaign is receiving dozens of calls and emails a day from people offering their support.

“People are reaching out to us because they know this election is crucial to the future of Canada.”
